The NASA Associate Administrator of Education Speaks at SC 2014
The NASA Associate Administrator of Education Donald James made an inspiring presentation in front of the participants in the Space Challenges 2014 educational program, in New conference hall of Sofia University, on October 8.
Thirty-six specially selected Cadets from the program, as well as more than twenty guests, were at the event. In his presentation, Donald James talked about NASA’s work in education, international projects, and the future research projects of the Agency.
The Cadets made short presentations on the structure of the four applied projects, on which they are working as part of the program – an autonomous rover, an autonomous glider, a photobioreactor, and an interactive visualization web page for satellite observations of the Earth.
Donald James offered advice to the Cadets on how to improve their presentations. He was impressed by the high difficulty level of the projects, and even shared with the Cadets that NASA researchers are currently working on a project very similar to the glider project, which is meant to survey disaster areas. The Associate Administrator of Education James expressed his will to keep in close touch with the team of Space Challenges, and to work towards future mutual projects between the program and NASA.
