A Visit to Smolyan Planetarium

We were pumped to visit the planetarium in the beautiful town of Smolyan, in the Rodopi mountains of southern Bulgaria, this past Friday.

Apart from housing one of the biggest planetariums in the country, this institution, supported by the local municipality, has a vibrant community of space enthusiasts and budding astronomers. We presented the Space Challenges program in front of an audience of more than 40 local students, young people, and school teachers.

After the presentation, there was a discussion on the future of space education, and how we can work together to bring space closer to more young people in Bulgaria.

Hope to see you again soon, Smolyan!
